Privacy
How Irembo Foundation looks after the information you share with us.
What we collect
Information you give us in applications and accounts: names, contact details, addresses, school or training details, household information and documents such as IDs, birth certificates and report cards. For sponsors and donors: your name, contact details and giving history.
Why we collect it
To decide who we can support, to deliver and follow that support, to keep sponsors informed with approved updates, and to keep accurate records of donations.
Who can see it
Only Irembo staff whose role requires it. Guardians see their own child’s information. Sponsors see only the approved profile and updates of the child they support. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and never stored by Irembo.
What is made public
Only what a family has agreed to share and our staff have approved: a first or chosen name, an age range, a general region, a short story and, if agreed, a photo. Consent to photos and stories is separate and optional.
How we protect it
Information is stored securely, sent over encrypted connections, and protected by access rules inside the database itself. Private documents are only available through short-lived links to authorised people. Staff actions are recorded.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw consent for photos and stories, at any time by emailing irembofoundation1@gmail.com.
