Irembo US
Opening support across borders.
Irembo US connects supporters, schools, institutions and partners in the United States with Irembo Foundation’s programs in Rwanda.
Irembo US, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, was formed in October 2017 to raise funds and help guide decisions for the many programs run by Irembo Foundation, an NGO in Kigali, Rwanda.
Mission
Irembo US works to offer the tools that maximise the potential of vulnerable youth in Rwanda, and to ensure that participating youth and their families have access to housing, education and health services.
Goals
- 1
Grow the scholarship program by funding school fees and supplies for vulnerable children of all ages — children without proper housing, nutrition, health services or social and emotional support.
- 2
Fund the Saturday Nutrition Program: a weekly meal, social and emotional support, help with studies, English lessons and active play.
- 3
Help maintain the community center that provides space and supplies for Mama Rwanda vocational training for young women and the mothers of Irembo’s children.
- 4
Support mentorship for young adults, with training in vocational and life skills and help finding employment.
- 5
Continue the global youth community, where young adults share ideas and strategies for positive change in their communities.

Irembo US events
Gatherings in the United States share Rwandan culture, art and the story of Irembo with new friends and supporters.
