Sponsors send photos, cards and messages — always checked by our staff first — and receive report cards and updates in return. For a child, knowing someone believes in them can matter as much as the school fees.
How sponsorship works

Irembo means “gateway.”
We are represented by a hummingbird. In the parable of the forest fire, the other animals stand frozen — only the tiny hummingbird tries to put the fire out, one drop at a time. Seeing it, they realise every bit helps, and they all begin to work together.
One act can become a passage for many others.

Art that opens doors
Home Art Collection (HAC) is Irembo Foundation’s international art advisory and U.S. showroom for artists from Rwanda and East Africa. It also sells handmade goods made by Mama Rwanda women, and forty percent of artwork sales support Irembo Foundation’s activities.
Children's safety comes first
We never publish a child's full name, address, school or family contact details. Sponsors and children never message each other directly — our staff check every message first.
